New Documentary Explores the Deep Spirituality of John Denver’s Words and Music Through the Eyes of West Virginia Artist & Filmmaker Tim Tye
Elkins, West Virginia — December 2025 — After a celebrated career as a prominent Nashville talent agent and manager known as “The Agent to the Stars” in the early years of his adult life, and in later years as Matthew Henry (pseudonym), the popular artist & craftsman, Tim Tye has unveiled his first documentary short film: “The Spirituality of John Denver’s Words & Music and How it Spoke to My Soul” now streaming on YouTube.
The film is a heartfelt and deeply personal exploration of the spiritual wisdom woven throughout John Denver’s lyrics, and how his worldview shaped (and in many ways transformed) Tye’s own life. The film blends biography with tribute examining how Denver’s songs; rooted in themes of love, nature, and spirituality resonated deeply with his own journey throughout life as a songwriter, music business executive, and nature artist. Rather than presenting a detached analysis, Tye offers a personal meditation on Denver’s artistry, showing how music does serve as a spiritual compass to those who listen.
Instead of following the traditional film festival circuit, Tye premiered the documentary without any promotion directly to audiences on his YouTube channel, The Language of Nature Company to gauge audience reaction more quickly. “Tye said, ‘I live to inspire and to be inspired. It appears that I’ve been successful in conveying some good vibes for some folks with my film. I am happy. My aim is to make more people happy.”
